How Rope is Made

Different types of rope are created with different techniques. For double braid lines like New England Ropes Sta-Set or Samson's MLX3 the manufacturing techniques are the same since Samson engineer Kenneth L. Fogden invented the first synthetic double-braided rope. It is really two ropes in one. The core is pre-made and feed up from the bottom the cover is braided over the core to create the complete line. Some of the videos below show this process. The difference is in the material used on the core and cover lines, and the tension and consistency in the manufacturing.
